Summer 2017
Poke the Muse
open studio sessions:
Every Monday (except Bank Hols) 1.30 till 3.30 pm
@ TAPE Community Music and Film (see directions below)

Poke the Muse is a simple Open Studio concept, offering adults the opportunity to work in a relaxed setting with materials on hand to explore ideas but without pressure to produce.  Activities are self directed with people working creatively in a café-table style set up, together or individually – as they wish. Sessions are facilitated rather than tutor led, with resources and demonstrations on offer to prompt ideas. A rolling exhibition of outcomes is on show in TAPE's reception hall, with Open Mic events offering the opportunity to showcase written and performance work on a roughly quarterly basis.

Poke the Muse has become an established activity at TAPE Community Music and Film and is supported by Conwy Community Wellbeing Team & Conwy Communities First.

I am handing over lead for this project as I retired from Community Arts practice this April, but I'll be supporting the transition until June, encouraging inexperienced participants to explore materials and ideas and offering time and space to those with more experience to get on with their own projects.
